Non-bias and funding
Last updated: May 2025
Non-bias policy:
Fareq is committed to neutrality and objectivity in all fact-checking operations, ensuring accurate, evidence-based information. In Line with the principle of transparency, sources of information and the methodology used in the verification process are clarified. We guarantee that there is no bias by selecting claims in a balanced manner without focusing on a single side. The platform does not accept any funding from governmental or partisan entities or any parties that impose interference on the content.
No fact-checker is permitted to allow their personal opinions or affiliations to influence the verification results. All issues and parties are handled fairly and equally without bias towards any party.
If any of the fact-checkers are proved to have acted in a biased way, the following actions are taken based on the severity of the violation:
- Re-evaluation and fact-checking: the work is reviewed by another neutral team to correct any errors.
- Corrective statement: a clarification is published to the community regarding any bias that occurred and to correct any misinformation.
- Official warning: in the case of minor or unintentional violations.
- Temporary suspension: in cases of repeated bias or interference with the platform’s integrity.
- Final dismissal: if deliberate and repeated bias is proven, harming the platform’s credibility.
